By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. – Exodus 13:21
When the Israelites fled bondage in Egypt, the Pillar of Fire lit their path to travel at night. Just as the Pillar lit the way for the Israelites, so does Jesus light the way for us to salvation. And, in turn, we are to light the path for others, sharing the good news about Jesus, the light of the world.
