Tamarisk Tree

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Eternal God. – Genesis 21:33

The Tamarisk Tree is one of the slowest growing trees in the world. It grows so slowly in fact, that the one who planted it and many subsequent generations thereafter will never see it reach full maturity. 
As we intercede for others and plant seeds of faith in them, we may never see the fruit of that labor this side of heaven. May the Tamarisk tree be an encouraging reminder that we should not grow weary in welldoing [Galatians 6:9], even if we do not see immediate results. God is always working in our midst!
