Jesus Baptized - Abstract Expressionism

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. – Matthew 3:13-15

John was Jesus’ cousin, the same one who leapt in his mother Elizabeth’s womb at the arrival of Mary while she was pregnant with Jesus [Luke 1:41]. How amazing that unborn John recognized his unborn Savior Jesus immediately! 
This image depicts a scene later in their lives when Jesus arrived at the Jordan River to be baptized by his cousin. Because John knew who Jesus was, he did not feel worthy to baptize him. How many times do we feel unworthy in life to do what our Savior has called us to do? May this beautiful scene be a reminder that we are worthy because He is worthy!
