This world we live in is full of wolves. Those who would try to harm us, take advantage of us, even pull us away from the Truth. Jesus knew that in this world we would face trials [John 16:33] and that Satan would prowl around like a roaring lion seeking out whom he can devour [1 Peter 5:8]. We are called to live in this world, but not be of it. Though Satan may try to cause us to perish, Jesus reminds us to be wise, using discernment to understand the wiles of the devil, and to be innocent and blameless. Though they may accuse us, we will not be found guilty. May this strong image be a reminder that Jesus prepared the way, He understands what we are going through, and He is with us!
